Post–Hurricane Melissa: Infinity Trainers Launches Jamaica Recovery Workshop for Leaders and Managers

(December 3, 2025)

In the wake of Hurricane Melissa’s devastating impact, Jamaica’s public and private sectors face an urgent need to strengthen preparedness, rebuild stability and develop crisis-ready leadership. To support this national effort, Infinity Trainers will host the Post Hurricane Melissa Jamaica Recovery Workshop on December 6, 2025, under the distinguished patronage of former prime ministers The Most Hon. P.J. Patterson and The Hon. Bruce Golding.

This one-day workshop, themed “Crisis Management Planning: Reboot, Recharge, Reset,” will be held at the S Hotel, Kingston, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is specifically designed for leaders, managers, and decision-makers who must navigate disruptions and guide their organisations toward recovery in the months ahead.

Led by the seasoned crisis and change management team Elaine Commissiong, Jerome King-Johnson and Elaine Wint, Infinity Trainers brings decades of expertise in crisis leadership, communication strategy, organisational resilience and corporate coaching. Their approach blends practical tools with mindset training, giving participants both the strategic clarity and emotional readiness needed during unpredictable times.

What Participants Will Gain

The workshop goes beyond theory, offering hands-on, sector-specific strategies directly applicable to Jamaica’s post-Melissa reality. Attendees will learn how to:

  • Strengthen preparedness and avoid being caught off guard again.
    • Apply proven best practices and case studies from successful crisis responses.
    • Make informed, strategic decisions under pressure.
    • Lead teams with confidence during periods of uncertainty.
    • Build adaptable crisis management plans tailored to their sector.

Participants will also receive a comprehensive workbook and sector-specific handouts for ongoing reference long after the workshop ends.

Why This Workshop Matters Now

As highlighted in the official invitation, Jamaica is currently in a period where “effective crisis management is essential for organisational resilience and long-term success.” Hurricane Melissa exposed gaps in preparedness across multiple industries, making this moment a critical opportunity for leaders to strengthen systems, upgrade decision-making frameworks and build institutional stability before future disruptions occur.

  1. Hurricane Melissa was Jamaica’s 9/11 We are still reeling from the shock and horror of witnessing devastation and destruction unlike anything we have seen in generations.
I am sure that participants will leave feeling empowered and prepared to effectively lead the country through any future disaster preparedness and recovery planning.
The selection of presenters is spot on 👌🏻
